Blues and Browns

I just LOVE new fabrics!  I had to have these browns and blues.  Plan to make a new bed quilt for myself sometime this year, so chose these to begin with.  Not exactly sure what pattern I will use yet, but think it will be something simple.  I did pick up a couple of other fabrics in teal also(bottom pic).  No plans for those yet, but you can be sure I will think of something.  Have a few more teals in my stash.  The problem is I have nothing in my house that is teal, so it may end up being made into something to give away.

Christmas Fabrics

The red in these look pink, but they're not.  They will be perfect for the Figgy Pudding quilt I plan to put together sometime this year for Christmas.  Can always use a new Christmas quilt :)

Batiks

A few beautiful new Batik fabrics just waiting to be made into some fun quilts!

Amy's Quilt

I knew where I wanted to go with this one, but just didn't know where to begin.  I feel soooo out of practice!  I haven't worked on a quilt in a few months; just some smaller projects.  I ended up with scraps of brown, tan, white fabrics all over my bedroom (which is currently my sewing space too) and totally confused.  I knew I wanted these colors.  I chose some of my favorite soft cotton, very subtle prints and started whacking away.  I sat at my sewing machine and didn't know what to do next!  My kids keep hinting that I'm getting senile, and I think they're right!
I quickly went to my computer and looked for some inspiration on my favorite sewing blogs.  It's not like I've never made a scrap quilt before. The good news is, once I started sewing I couldn't stop and I completed this quilt top in one day. I'm really liking these quilts that have no patterns to follow.  I have used a lot of other people's patterns but believe I need to do a few of my own invention now and then.
Ended up machine quilting a large stipple pattern on this, since I'm still not very skilled with other patterns.
