Chain Reaction
So the one Batik that is darker blues, purples, etc. really throws my pattern off. It reads as just a dark blue, like the background. Bugs me like crazy, but I'm not going to change it now. It looks better close-up, like in the picture at the top. It had to go somewhere near a blue background though, and these fabrics were all part of the kit, so nothing I can do about it. I'm sure this one will look better once it's quilted. This one is for my brother Darryl and wife Theresa.

Good Read
I'm reading "Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life" by Jillian Michaels on my Kindle right now. It's full of great stuff! Get a hold of it if you can!

Figgy Pudding Christmas Quilt
I know it's a little early to start thinking about Christmas (sigh). However, I was getting a little sick of the brown quilt. It just needs to be machine-quilted, but really not in the mood this week.
On that note, I must say this Figgy Pudding quilt was just the answer to my boredom. It's so completely different from other quilts I've made. The fabrics are modern and the pattern is simple and boxy. I love it! I like the wrapped candy fabric in the border the best. I can just smell those green and red hard candies. They remind me of the ones that always ended up in my Christmas stocking as a child. I never liked the taste of them at all, but I can smell them even now. This quilt just makes me feel like dragging out the Christmas decorations--even in April! I will machine quilt it soon. The back may be more work than the front.

Bibs for Allison
Made these bibs for Allison. I needed to practice some machine quilting. These small projects help me get the pactice I need before going onto something bigger--like the Mocha Mix quilt.
